What is CRAFTY BIRDY?

CRAFTY BIRDY studio is a charming space dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic expression through various textile and art skills. It offers a range of workshops and classes for both adults and children, allowing participants to explore different crafting techniques, such as sewing, knitting, embroidery, painting, and more. The studio offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging participants to unleash their creativity, learn new skills, and connect with others in the craft community. Why choose CRAFTY BIRDY?

We aim to create an inclusive environment: We believe that creativity knows no age. By bringing together like-minded individuals, we create a supportive atmosphere where everyone can explore their artistic potential.

Where are you located?

​We are located in lovely village in the far south region of South Gloucestershire, on the outskirts of Bristol City Centre. Our address is: The Old Dramway Stables, 77A High Street, Oldland Common, BS30 9TJ.

Where can I park?

We are located on a main road which has free parking on the road. We remind you to be considerate to our local community and park in a safe and considerate way.

Do you have age restrictions on attendees?

Each workshop gives a brief description of what each workshop entails and has suggested age range of restrictions for each individual workshop.

What activities are on offer in the After-School Art Clubs?

We offer a variety of engaging craft projects designed to inspire creativity and skill development. Each term focuses on a different craft skill and provides participants with the opportunity to progressively learn and refine their techniques. By the end of each term, participants will have created their own unique project to take home and enjoy.

Each workshop includes a detailed description outlining the specific projects and skills covered during the term, ensuring everyone knows what to expect and how they will be able to express their creativity. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to enhance your crafting abilities, our workshops cater to all skill levels, making crafting both fun and rewarding! 

What activities are on offer in the Holiday Art Clubs?

Children will create two craft projects ​​over the day and take home with them the same day. All planned activities are released nearer the time on our website.

What are your opening times of the studio?

Our opening times vary and all workshop dates and times are on our website.​

How do I enrol an adult or a child on to a weekly club?

​Bookings can be carried out through our website. If you are unsure if you want to sign up to a full 4 months commitment, then we offer ONE FREE TRIAL for ALL Children's clubs. (Excluding all adult clubs and Children's Art-Led Holiday Clubs).

What are Art Holiday Clubs?

Holiday clubs are aimed for children of varying ages from 7 years up to 12 years old. Children will be given a whole day to create two craft projects to take home at the end of the day. 

What is the cost of a Art-Led Holiday Club?

​A full day costs £54 per child with a 10am drop off, to start crafting at 10:15am to a 3pm prompt pick up. If you need an earlier drop off and pick up time we can accommodate at an additional cost of £5 extra per half an hour. Please let us know at the time of booking your child on to an Art-Led Holiday Club.

I already have a child enrolled, can I enrol their sibling?

Yes of course! The more the merrier is welcome. We cannot offer any sibling discounts on Art-Led Holiday Clubs.

Do I need to bring anything with me when attending a workshop?

Everything is provided to create your own project.

Can I bring my own resources?

Everything is provided for your craft workshop on the day but if their is a particular material you would like to use in your project then you are more than welcome to bring it with you.

Do you serve food and drinks during the workshops?

You are welcome to bring your own snacks and soft or alcoholic drinks (if attending an adult workshop). Please be aware we do not have any facilities to heat up any food. 

Do I need to book in advance - Adult Evening Workshops, Weekend Workshops, Monthly 'Chat and Create's' and Seasonal workshops?

Yes, booking is essential to secure your place on any workshop.

How do I book onto a one off workshop or join a club through a monthly membership scheme?

Please look under our 'Plans and Pricing' to book onto one of our clubs.

What is your cancellation policy?

​​Please see our Cancellation Policy which is set out in 'Terms and Conditions' policy.

What safety measures do we have in place to keep children safe in our care?

​​We hold risk assessments for our crafts to keep children and adults safe. We hold a first aid kit on site for emergencies.

Is art instructors DBS - certified?

Yes, they all have a valid and up to date certification which is available on request.

What is your policy on allergies?

We prioritise the health and safety of all participants with our strict ‘No Sharing’ food policy and a nut-free studio environment. Allergy information is collected at the time of booking to ensure we are aware of any allergy conditions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to create a safe and enjoyable space for everyone!

Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

​We accept or major debit cards. Please note that will be options to buy craft kits in the near future (coming soon). Additionally, we offer a 'CRAFTY BIRDY CORNER' where participants can choose to buy additional crafts to do at home. We accept cash payments for all items purchased at the studio.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer a sibling discount to After-School Art Club only, providing that one child is currently a member of our clubs.

Can you explain how the membership scheme works?

Please see our section under 'Plans and Pricing'.

Bespoke Parties

Do you host bespoke parties?

Yes we do, please email us for a brochure or contact us personally to discuss all your party needs.

How do I find out what you offer?

Email us with your query and we shall send you our party brochure to browse the wide selection of crafts and personalised packages to choose from.

How do I book?

​Book through our booking system on our website 'Plans and Pricing' section.

How much deposit do I need to pay to hold the date of a bespoke party?

​We require a £50 deposit to secure the date of your booking. We request that payment in full is required 2 weeks before the booking. 

How much is the cost of a bespoke party?

How do I subscribe to your newsletter?

​By providing us with your email it allows you first insight to any promotions, offers, release of new workshops or updates on our studio. Your privacy matters to us.

Do you sell craft kits to make our own projects at home?

We are working on it. We will be releasing them soon​!

Do you offer online workshops?

I am afraid we are unable to offer online workshops at present. All our workshops are held in person at our lovely, cosy studio.​​​​​​​​​​​​​
